You’ll work with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to obtain authorizations, verify insurance information, secure required documentation, and maintain accurate records. If you have experience in prior authorization, medical billing, or healthcare administration, this could be a strong next step in your career. Acute Prior Authorization Specialist Responsibilities:

·         Review and process prior authorization requests for medical services

·         Work with insurance companies to obtain required authorizations

·         Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation

·         Communicate with patients regarding authorization-related matters

·         Verify patient insurance information

·         Maintain accurate records related to authorizations

·         Work with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Teams

Acute Prior Authorization Specialist Requirements:

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         Minimum 1–2 years of experience in prior authorization, medical billing, or healthcare administration

·         Strong knowledge of medical terminology

·         Comfortable working with computers and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems

·         Strong communication and organizational skills

·         Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful but not required
