Geotechnical Driller's Helper

Pay: $16.00+/Hour DOE (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Full-Time | Overtime Available | Travel Required

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Geotechnical Driller's Helper to assist with soil drilling and sampling operations for geotechnical investigations. This position works directly alongside the Lead Driller to safely and efficiently complete field projects. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, can perform physically demanding labor, and is willing to travel as project needs require.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Driller with the setup, operation, and breakdown of geotechnical drilling equipment.
• Handle drill rods, augers, samplers, tooling, and other drilling equipment.
• Assist with soil sampling procedures, including split-spoon sampling, Shelby tube sampling, and bulk sampling.
• Load, unload, organize, clean, and maintain drilling tools and equipment.
• Assist with mobilizing drill rigs, water tanks, and support equipment between job sites.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment around the drill rig and project site.
• Follow instructions from the Lead Driller and project personnel.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Travel to various project locations and assist with overnight assignments when required.
• Perform general labor duties necessary to support drilling operations.

Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding position that requires working outdoors in a variety of environmental conditions, including:

• High heat and direct sunlight
• Humidity and cold weather
• Mud, dust, and uneven terrain
• Exposure to heavy equipment and drilling machinery

Employees should expect extended periods of:

• Standing and walking
• Bending, kneeling, and climbing
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy materials
• Working around active drilling operations and construction environments

Schedule Expectations

Work hours are not always predictable and may vary based on:

• Travel requirements

• Dependable transportation and reliable attendance record.

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
