Technical Sales Representative

Niagara Region, ON | Full-Time, Permanent | Precision Machining / Advanced Manufacturing

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an experienced Technical Sales Representative to join an established and growing precision machining and advanced manufacturing company in the Niagara Region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technical sales professional with a strong understanding of CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or engineered products who enjoys developing new business and building long-term customer relationships.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers, engineering, estimating, quality, and production teams to identify opportunities, understand technical requirements, and develop profitable manufacturing solutions.

The Opportunity

This is a relationship-driven, technical sales position with a strong focus on business development and new customer acquisition.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing new business and expanding existing accounts
• Prospecting and identifying new customers and applications
• Managing the sales process from initial contact through quotation and order
• Building relationships with engineering, purchasing, operations, and management teams
• Visiting customers and understanding their technical and manufacturing requirements
• Reviewing RFQs, drawings, specifications, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements
• Working with internal estimating, engineering, and production teams to develop solutions
• Maintaining an active sales pipeline and achieving sales and margin targets
• Providing market intelligence and customer feedback to the internal team

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in technical sales or business development
• Strong ability to generate new business and develop customer relationships
• Understanding of precision machining, CNC manufacturing, or metalworking
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently
• Strong business and commercial acumen
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to customer locations

Experience in These Areas Is a Strong Asset

• CNC machining, milling, turning, grinding or 5-axis machining
• Precision-machined or engineered components
• Manufacturing or industrial sales
• Materials such as stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, or other difficult-to-machine alloys
• Aerospace, defence, power generation, nuclear, semiconductor, or other high-precision industries
• Mechanical engineering, manufacturing, machining, or technical education

Who Will Succeed?

We're looking for more than an order taker. The ideal candidate is a hunter and relationship builder who enjoys opening doors, developing new accounts, and turning technical conversations into business opportunities.

You should be comfortable speaking with engineers and purchasing professionals, asking technical questions, understanding customer challenges, and working with a manufacturing team to determine the best solution.

You don't necessarily need to be a machinist—but you should be technically curious, commercially driven, and confident discussing precision manufacturing.
