SOR Plant Operator

Pay: $16.00+/hour (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Flexible Hours
Location: Depends on jobsite

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to oversee the daily operations of our SOR Plant facility. The ideal candidate is eager to take ownership of their role, can work independently, and is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment. This position offers flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth for the right candidate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and operate the SOR Plant facility.
  • Operate and monitor a three-phase centrifuge.
  • Monitor and operate various pumps, valves, gauges, and flow meters.
  • Adjust the oil recovery process as needed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all mechanical equipment at the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, ranging from simple gauge replacements to mechanical pump repairs.
  • Coordinate major repairs and maintenance projects with management.
  • Collect and record oil "spin out" samples throughout processing stages.
  • Sample and coordinate the sale of recovered oil with designated purchasers.
  • Communicate operational concerns and recommendations to improve site performance.
  • Coordinate trucking schedules and report mechanical process issues.
  • Operate skid-steer loaders and backhoes for site maintenance activities.
  • Shovel oil-saturated gravel or solids within containment areas as needed.
  • Pressure wash equipment and oil-saturated work areas to maintain a safe and clean facility.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to work independently and manage changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn new processes and procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges, meters, and operational data.
  • Experience using tablet devices and electronic reporting systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, shoveling, climbing, and operating heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
