$20/hour | 32-40 hours a week | Grand Rapids, MN

 

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a temporary custodian in Grand Rapids,MN. This position has potential to become long term with a local client. 

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

 

• Provide basic janitorial cleaning and maintenance to KOOTASCA's buildings and grounds as directed
• Clean main hallways and corridors daily and manage trash and recycling
• Vacuum, mop, and wash floors and windows as needed
• Complete drywall repair, painting, caulking, mowing, and other interior or exterior maintenance
• Perform snow removal and de-icing as needed
• Maintain playground equipment and ensure it is in safe working condition
• Replace light bulbs and complete minor electrical and routine plumbing repairs
• Assemble or repair furniture and move or set up tables and chairs
• Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns
• Maintain assigned tools and equipment and work with the team to perform required boiler checks
• Work with the supervisor to schedule repairs beyond this position's intended scope of work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and more than one year of related experience
• Special Boilers certification or willingness and ability to obtain it through the agency within one year of hire
• Ability to complete a DHS Background Study and a valid driver's license
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to organize a work schedule, set priorities, meet deadlines, and adjust to last-minute assignments
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed
• Knowledge of building equipment, including HVAC, water heaters, and door or cabinet repair
• Knowledge of janitorial supplies and equipment

Physical Demand

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Requires sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching
