Job Details

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Yard Associate for a major wholesaler and distributor of construction supplies.

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently loading, unloading, stocking, and handling construction materials and products. The ideal candidate will have a positive, professional attitude, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general warehouse and yard labor
• Safely load and unload materials and products in a timely manner
• Stock and organize products as needed
• Complete appropriate paperwork and documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Assist with problem-solving and preventing workplace issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements

• English reading and writing proficiency
• Basic math skills
• This position requires heavy physical work, including the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move materials and products.
• Previous experience with building products, hardware, construction materials, or a related industry is preferred
• Positive, professional attitude with a pleasant personality
• Strong problem-solving and prevention skills
• Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• This position requires successful completion of a background screening after a conditional offer of employment, in accordance with Washington State law.

Work Environment

This position involves working both indoors and outdoors and may include exposure to varying environmental and atmospheric conditions.

Employees may be exposed to:

• Fumes and odors
• Dust and other airborne particles
• Mists or gases
• Poor ventilation
• Outdoor weather conditions

The position requires strong visual attention for inspecting materials, reading paperwork, using computers or measurement devices, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of completed work. Visual acuity may also be required for operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment when applicable.
