3rd shift - Cutting Dept. - Assistant Cutter Operator

Our client is looking for a Die Cutter Operator is responsible for the setup, adjustment and safe operation of all cutting equipment to prepare products to be packed, collated or bound, ensuring the meeting of customer specifications, in accordance with policies and procedures.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review job tickets and plan work processes strategically to meet customer specifications for custom jobs.
• Login to Batch Detail/Cutting Process System to show where press sheet is to be cut.
• Mark Press Sheet with marker to show cutting lift quantity so Packer’s can retrieve required boxes.
• Inspect Press Sheet and identify order types and communicate with Side Cutter Operators.
• Setup assigned apparatus to job assignment specifications, obtain approval of setup and run product when indicated by Supervisor or Plant Management.
• Monitor assigned apparatus during run to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and operating speed.
• Ensure the completion of assignments by meeting quality/quantity specifications and requirements.
• Troubleshoot machine issues, if possible resolve it and notifying Bindery Supervisor and/or Plant Management.
• Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools when required.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and work station are in good working order and is free of safety hazards.
• Report any and all workplace hazards to management immediately.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and absent of debris that may be a work hazard.

Qualified applicants should:

• Must have excellent vision, coordination and dexterity to deal with handling and manipulating materials and parts
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Previous cutting machine experience is a plus, but not required
