Quality Technician

Located in Byron Center, MI

Salary: $25-$30/HR

Quality Technician Job Summary:

A local manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Technician with manufacturing quality experience to perform inspections, measurements, testing, and documentation while reading blueprints, using measurement tools, and communicating with production employees to ensure products meet company standards.

Quality Technician Responsibilities:

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components and finished products
• Complete dimensional checks and verify products against blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions
• Use GO / NO-GO gauges and other measurement tools to verify product quality
• Identify and document nonconforming materials or products
• Enter inspection results and nonconformance information into company systems
• Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective-action efforts
• Perform production audits to ensure products and processes meet established quality standards
• Maintain quality documentation, visual guides, inspection criteria, and related records
• Communicate with production employees, engineers, suppliers, and other departments regarding quality concerns
• Coordinate with an outside testing facility and occasionally transport parts to and from the lab
• Assist with product tear-downs and other quality projects as needed
• Shift between priorities throughout the day based on production and quality needs

Schedule & Pay:

• 1st shift: Must have schedule flexibility to start as early as 5:00 AM and work until approximately 3:30 PM when needed
• $25-$30/HR based on experience

Quality Technician Qualifications:

• Previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Experience using GO / NO-GO gauges or other dimensional measurement tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual or dimensional defects
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Comfortable learning and entering information into an ERP system
• Ability to multitask and adjust priorities throughout the workday
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable with a strong attendance record
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift approximately 40 pounds
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around production equipment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education or certification is a plus
