About the Role

Express Employment Professionals – Timonium is recruiting experienced Maintenance Technicians to support a large-scale, labor-only residential maintenance work-order contract across multiple properties in Baltimore City. You will serve as the lead skilled tradesperson on a two-person crew (Technician + Helper), completing a high volume of multi-trade repair work orders in both occupied and vacant residential units. All repair materials are supplied by the client — this is a labor, tools, and expertise role.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead technician on a two-person crew, directing and completing assigned work orders in occupied and vacant residential units
• Perform skilled, code-compliant repairs across multiple trades, including:
  • General carpentry (doors, frames, hardware, cabinets, trim, drywall/plaster patching)
  • Plumbing (labor-only): fixture and supply line repair, faucets, traps, toilets, drain clearing
  • Electrical (labor-only): switches, outlets, GFCIs, light fixtures, smoke/CO detectors, minor troubleshooting
  • HVAC/mechanical (labor-only): thermostats, registers, filters, belts, minor repairs
  • Painting/surface restoration, flooring/tile repair, doors/windows/life-safety corrections
  • Masonry/exterior minor repairs and appliance/fixture install support
• Perform any licensed trade work strictly within your qualifications and applicable code/licensure requirements
• Complete a minimum daily production quota of fully completed work orders per crew (exact quota confirmed at hire)
• Turn in completed work order documentation daily, including status, description of labor performed, and photos if required
• Sign in and out daily at the management/maintenance office; wear required contractor identification/badge
• Interact professionally and respectfully with residents; protect resident property and minimize disruption
• Report property damage, resident concerns, missing materials, or safety issues to management immediately
• Respond to urgent/emergency assignments (e.g., plumbing, electrical, or safety issues) as authorized

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass pre-employment background and drug screen
• Prior experience in skilled trades maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall/painting, general repair) required
• Trade licenses or certifications strongly preferred, especially electrical, plumbing, or HVAC
• Comfortable working in occupied residential settings with professionalism and discretion
• Reliable personal transportation to travel between multiple Baltimore City sites
• Must supply own hand tools, PPE, and basic testing devices/meters
• Strong attendance record — dependable, on-time attendance is critical to this contract
• Ability to lead a two-person crew and manage daily work order documentation
