General Laborer – Drainage Installation

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to join a small crew assisting with drainage installation projects in the Ashland, IL area. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable driving a truck and trailer, working outdoors, and performing physical labor.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $21.00/hour
• Schedule: Monday–Saturday, approximately 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Job Type: Temporary/Contract
• Overtime Available
• Location: Ashland, IL

Job Duties

• Assist with machine maintenance and operation
• Use a grease gun and fuel equipment
• Drive a truck and trailer to and from worksites
• Safely back a truck and trailer
• Pull a trailer carrying drainage tile
• Drive in a straight line alongside operating equipment without overlapping other rows
• Assist with laying drainage tile in the field
• Cut pipe and plug holes at the end of each row
• Use a shovel as needed
• Climb ladders and into/out of trucks and equipment
• Assist with attaching drainage tile rolls to machinery
• Travel daily to various worksites

No CDL is required, but candidates must be comfortable driving and backing a truck and trailer.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and comfortable driving a truck and trailer
• Able to safely back a truck and trailer
• Reliable and comfortable working as part of a small crew
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to ask questions and follow directions
• Able to work quickly while maintaining accuracy
• Flexible and comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Working outdoors in the elements
