The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, load, unload, and organize large and heavy pallets throughout the warehouse or facility. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and experienced in handling heavy materials and operating industrial equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load, unload, and stage large and heavy pallets.
  • Transport materials and products between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas.
  • Load and unload trucks while following proper safety procedures.
  • Safely lift, stack, and organize pallets in designated storage areas.
  • Inspect pallets, loads, and forklift equipment before and during operation.
  • Verify that loads are properly balanced, secured, and within forklift capacity before moving.
  • Maneuver forklifts safely through warehouse aisles, loading areas, and other workspaces.
  • Maintain accurate awareness of inventory locations and assist with organizing warehouse materials.
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Report damaged pallets, products, equipment, or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Perform routine forklift inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including loading, unloading, staging, and material handling.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, drivers, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Handle heavy materials carefully to prevent damage to products, equipment, and facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Current forklift certification is required.
  • Previous forklift operating experience required.
  • Experience moving large, heavy, and oversized pallets preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy warehouse or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of proper load-handling, stacking, and material-handling procedures.
  • Strong awareness of workplace safety and surroundings.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
