 Shipping Receiving Clerk

About Position:

Responsible for accurately preparing, receiving, packing, and shipping customer orders while maintaining warehouse inventory and supporting customer service activities. Provides assistance with order inquiries, inventory issues, and general warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and assist customers with pickup orders and inquiries.
  • Support Sales and Customer Service with order-related questions.
  • Accurately pick, pack, prepare, and ship customer orders for prompt delivery.
  • Receive, inspect, label, and stock incoming merchandise efficiently.
  • Maintain and protect warehouse inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with applicable labeling, shipping laws, and regulations.
  • Keep warehouse and storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and work practices.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies and related issues.
  • Assist with cycle counts as required.
  • Take on lead responsibilities when the Supervisor or Manager is unavailable.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, injuries, or incidents.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to work independently while following company policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations, products, material handling, and departmental workflows.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial lift trucks/forklifts in accordance with company and government regulations.
  • Ability to use and maintain respiratory protection equipment, as required.
  • Ability to learn proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and waste.
  • Ability to enter, update, and maintain information in ERP systems.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, count, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Previous inventory or warehouse management experience is considered an asset.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs for short distances.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment and follow required safety procedures.
