Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a Lead Retail Sales Associate!

Position Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Retail Sales Associate to help oversee daily operations at their Cedar Rapids location. This position is ideal for someone who is confident working independently, comfortable taking ownership of day to day responsibilities, and enjoys providing excellent customer service. The Lead will serve as a key point of contact for customers while helping ensure transactions, customer requests, and daily store operations are handled accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of daily retail operations and help keep the location running efficiently
• Welcome customers and ensure they receive prompt, professional service
• Assist customers with questions, product options, and available services
• Evaluate customer needs and provide appropriate solutions
• Prepare accurate quotes for products and services
• Process sales and customer transactions using the POS system
• Handle cash payments, provide accurate change, and balance the cash drawer
• Answer incoming calls and address customer questions and concerns
• Maintain accurate and organized customer and transaction information
• Keep the retail area, products, and office organized and presentable
• Complete general office responsibilities and assist with operational tasks during slower periods
• Help ensure customers receive consistent and professional service throughout their visit

Qualifications:

• Previous retail, sales, customer service, or related experience preferred
• Confident, outgoing personality with strong communication skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable handling cash and balancing a cash drawer
• Ability to accurately process transactions and use a POS system
• Professional approach to handling customer questions and concerns
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a busy environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed

Hours:

• Approximately 30–35 hours per week
• This position follows a standard first-shift/daytime schedule
• The store is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM–7:00 PM, but employees in this position are not expected to work the full span of store hours
• Weekday start and end times may vary slightly depending on scheduling needs
• Weekend availability is REQUIRED.
• Weekend shifts are 10:00 AM–3:00 PM on Saturday OR Sunday
• You will never be required to work both Saturday and Sunday in the same week
• If you are scheduled to work one weekend day, you will receive a day off during the week to offset that shift
• Candidates must have some flexibility in their schedule to accommodate the rotating weekend schedule

Pay:

• $17/hour
