Returns Department Shipper/Receiver

Express Employment Professionals is hiring for a Direct Hire Returns Department Shipper/Receiver position with a reputable distribution company in the West Valley.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Returns Department Shipper/Receiver to manage the receipt, processing, documentation, and shipment of defective and returned products in accordance with vendor return procedures. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring timely product returns.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive defective products from branch locations and enter return information into the operating system.
• Verify that product information, including date codes, serial numbers, and quantities, matches documentation submitted by branch locations.
• Organize and store returned products in designated vendor return areas.
• Process vendor returns on weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly schedules.
• Verify physical inventory counts against system records.
• Create return merchandise purchase orders (RMPOs) when required and coordinate shipments to vendors.
• Submit Return Goods Authorization (RGA) requests and supporting documentation to vendors.
• Upload EDI files and manage vendor portal transactions as required.
• Process vendor claims and maintain documentation according to company procedures.
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding claim submissions, batch numbers, and return documentation.
• Participate in annual physical inventory activities and inventory reconciliation.
• Assist with identifying and processing products for scrapping when vendor returns are not required.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with vendor-specific return procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, or returns processing experience required.
• Knowledge of inventory receiving and inventory control procedures.
• Experience verifying product information, serial numbers, date codes, and quantities.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with inventory systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to follow detailed vendor-specific procedures and documentation requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Forklift experience is required.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

Work Environment

• Climate-controlled warehouse environment.
• Daily handling of previously installed HVAC and refrigeration components.
• Frequent lifting, moving, and handling of parts and materials.
• Physical and active role requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the day.
• Participation in annual physical inventory each October.
