Express Employment Professionals – Guelph is recruiting on behalf of our client, a progressive, well-established regional public accounting firm, for a Senior Assurance Manager.

This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who wants more than simply completing engagements. You’ll take a leadership role with clients, mentor accounting professionals, oversee assurance work and contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm.

THE ROLE

As Senior Assurance Manager, you will lead assurance engagements and serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of clients, from entrepreneurial startups to established organizations.

You’ll work closely with Partners, Management and clients while providing leadership to the accounting team and ensuring engagements are completed accurately, efficiently and to a high professional standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion
• Prepare and review complex year-end engagements, NTRs, Reviews and Audits
• Review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and CAS
• Identify accounting issues, assess risk and provide practical recommendations
• Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
• Mentor, coach and develop junior and intermediate accounting professionals
• Provide guidance and leadership throughout engagements
• Work with Partners and Management to improve processes and client service
• Participate in the continued development and growth of the firm's assurance practice

YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT IF...

• You have 3–4+ years of public accounting experience
• You hold a CPA designation or are actively working toward your CPA
• You have strong experience with Audits, Reviews, NTRs and complex year-end engagements
• You are confident interpreting and applying GAAP and CAS
• You naturally take ownership and enjoy leading engagements
• You enjoy mentoring and developing other professionals
• You are comfortable communicating directly with clients, Partners and Management
• You are a strong critical thinker with excellent attention to detail
• You enjoy solving problems and finding practical solutions
