As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring material and finished pieces meet the quality requirements. Produce parts from drawings and reporting non-conformances and working to solve known issues. Set up and operate the CNC Engraver/Router/Laser machine. Perform engraving, lasing, and routing on elevator fixture panels by following related CAD Schematics.

The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and operate CNC machines as required by the work order specification.

This role is currently not open to students or those who are looking for temporary roles.

Pay Rate: $22.80/hour plus 4% vacation pay

Available Shifts: ( must be flexible to work both shifts)

  • Days: Mon - Thurs 7am - 4:30pm, Fri 7am - 3:30pm
  • Afternoons: Mon - Thurs 4pm - 1am, Fri 3pm - 11pm

Duties

  • Set up CNC milling machines, lathes, and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machine.
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts.
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce outputs according to specifications.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments (e.g. Micrometers, Vernier calipers) while infilling and cleaning engraving in a timely manner.
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
  • Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to ensure high standards are maintained.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings an asset
  • Ability to lift loads up to 50lbs
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Experience:

  • Manufacturing: 2 years (preferred)
  • Machine Operator: 2 years (preferred)
