Edge Assembly Technician - Lighting Department

Location: Newberg, OR

Schedule: Mon-Fri 5 AM-1:30 PM (occasional OT)

Pay: $17.50 to start

The Lights Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and testing lighting components and finished products according to company specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining safety and quality expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble lighting fixtures, components, and related products according to work instructions and engineering specifications.
  • Install, connect, and secure electrical and mechanical components.
  • Perform product inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Test assembled lighting products for functionality and compliance with specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret work orders, assembly drawings, and production documentation.
  • Identify and report production issues, defects, or material shortages.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparing products for shipment as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and team goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, or production experience preferred.
  • Experience with lighting products, wiring, or electrical assembly is a plus.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for assembly work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and move materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to distinguish colors for wiring and component identification.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and production facility environment.
  • Exposure to machinery, tools, and production equipment.
  • Requires adherence to safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
