The Overhead Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating overhead cranes and material handling equipment to move raw materials, finished products, machinery, and other heavy loads throughout the manufacturing facility. This position plays a critical role in supporting production operations by ensuring materials are transported safely, efficiently, and accurately while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, and other lifting equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Transport raw materials, components, finished goods, and equipment within the plant and warehouse areas.
• Inspect cranes, hoists, slings, chains, hooks, and lifting devices before use and report any defects or maintenance needs.
• Properly rig, secure, and balance loads to prevent shifting or damage during movement.
• Follow established lift plans, safety procedures, and operating standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production personnel, riggers, and spotters during lifting operations.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, railcars, storage racks, and production equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, equipment issues, and completed work when required.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Assist with inventory movement and other material handling duties as assigned.
• Adhere to OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and all applicable regulations.
• Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training programs.
