Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing and recruiting firm, is currently hiring for a MIG Welder for a client in Baton Rouge. The ideal candidate is someone who is entry-level and out of school, looking to get a foot in the door with a welding career, or has been a welder helper and is looking to start welding. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Mig welding and repairing metal crates and components. 
• Installation of welding stations. 
• Preparation of the shop, cleaning, removal of grease marks. 
• Set up welding machines. 
• Handling, welding, assembling parts, grinding, cutting, folding and shaping components. 
• Inspecting crates before they leave. 
• Any other duties needed in the shop or facility. 

 

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION NEEDED:

• Must be able to follow instructions 
• Welding certification or welding schooling preferred but not required. 
• Past experience as a welder helper preferred but not required. 
• Ability to use hand and power tools. 
• Ability to work in a hot environment and be on your feet. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

• Varying standing and sitting for extended periods throughout the day.
• Occasional lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
• Exposure to varying environments including loud, hot, and smoke-filled areas.
