Railroad Tie Production Laborer – 1st Shift

Looking for a full-time, long-term manufacturing job where you can stay active and work with your hands? Express Employment Professionals of Tomah is hiring Railroad Tie Production Laborers for a local company specializing in the production of railroad ties.

Pay & Schedule

• $22.17/hour
• Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:00 PM
• Full-time, long-term opportunity

What You'll Do

• Work around treated lumber in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Remove steel rods from between layers of treated railroad ties
• Operate air benders to package ties into truck packs
• Use a tie pick to position ties for production
• Apply steel endplates to railroad ties
• Operate an electric drill and jig to drill holes in ties
• Position plates and spikes on drilled ties for the next stage of production
• Set spikes into ties using a hammer
• Operate a jackhammer to drive spikes to the required height
• Follow safety and production procedures throughout the shift

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, crouch, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Stable work history
• Previous lumber yard, construction, manufacturing, or industrial experience is preferred but not required
