Logistics/Warehouse Associate

Job Summary

The Logistics/Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. This position ensures the accurate movement of materials and finished goods, maintains inventory accuracy, coordinates transportation activities, and supports overall warehouse efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Shipping and Receiving

  • Load outbound shipments and unload incoming freight from trucks safely and efficiently
  • Verify order accuracy and shipping documentation prior to shipment
  • Process shipping and receiving transactions within warehouse management and inventory systems
  • Receive incoming materials and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Coordinate carrier appointments and schedule shipments through transportation management systems
  • Stage products and materials for production and shipping activities
  • Ensure all materials are properly stored and organized within the warehouse

Inventory Control

  • Perform routine inventory cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and warehouse records
  • Follow First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory rotation practices
  • Assist with warehouse organization and space optimization
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy

Warehouse Operations

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other material-handling equipment as authorized
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with warehouse, production, quality, customer service, and logistics teams to meet operational goals
  • Communicate effectively with transportation providers, drivers, and internal departments

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management software
  • Ability to accurately process transactions and maintain inventory records
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification and/or previous forklift operating experience
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Hazardous materials (HazMat) certification or experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with workplace safety guidelines
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures and frequent movement of materials and equipment
