Compliance Analyst
Location: Ocala, FL
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay: $45,000 - $70,000 per year
Position Overview
A growing mortgage servicing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Analyst to support regulatory compliance, licensing administration, corporate governance, and operational risk management activities.
This role plays a key part in maintaining the organization's Compliance Management System (CMS) by helping monitor regulatory requirements, coordinating licensing activities, supporting audits and examinations, managing compliance documentation, and assisting with regulatory change implementation. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and passionate about ensuring business operations remain compliant in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor federal and state regulations, agency guidance, investor requirements, and industry developments.
- Research and analyze regulatory changes and assist with implementation across the organization.
- Support compliance testing, monitoring, issue tracking, and corrective action management.
- Assist business units with understanding and implementing regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance documentation and records.
Licensing & Corporate Governance
- Coordinate company licensing, registrations, and renewals through NMLS and other regulatory agencies.
- Maintain licensing records, annual filings, corporate registrations, and governance documentation.
- Manage compliance calendars and track regulatory reporting deadlines.
- Support corporate governance activities and organizational recordkeeping.
Audit & Risk Support
- Assist with internal audits, investor reviews, regulatory examinations, and compliance assessments.
- Gather documentation and coordinate responses to audit and examination requests.
- Support vendor risk management and due diligence activities.
- Track corrective actions and assist with remediation efforts.
Policy Administration & Training
- Assist with maintaining policies, procedures, and compliance-related documentation.
- Support compliance training initiatives and employee certifications.
- Coordinate policy reviews, updates, approvals, and version control.
- Maintain training records and regulatory compliance documentation.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Develop reports, dashboards, and tracking tools related to compliance activities and deadlines.
- Monitor key compliance metrics and provide visibility into ongoing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, standardize workflows, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Support ongoing efforts to strengthen the organization's Compliance Management System.
Qualifications
Required
- Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Legal Studies, Compliance, Mortgage Banking, or a related field.
- Two or more years of experience in mortgage servicing, compliance, licensing, risk management, audit support, quality assurance, or financial services operations.
- Experience working with NMLS licensing and regulatory filings.
- Familiarity with Compliance Management Systems (CMS).
- Experience supporting audits, examinations, or regulatory reviews.
Industry Knowledge Preferred
Knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations and requirements, including:
- RESPA
- TILA
- FDCPA
- FCRA
- UDAAP
- Fair Lending
- AML/BSA
- SCRA
- GLBA
- FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC, and GNMA servicing requirements
