A local accounting firm is looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
A/R: Maintain detailed and accurate accounts receivable files. Mail statements to brokers. Posts client payments and carrier direct bill payments to the accounting system. Reconcile unapplied payment amounts posted in the accounting system. Execute intra-company bank transfers. Accurately and timely process all deposits to the appropriate account. Reconcile and respond to broker inquiries/discrepancies. Special projects as needed. A/P: Process accounts payable for operating expenses (all entities). Process accounts payable for brokered invoices. Process payments to agents and finance companies with credit balances. Maintain detailed and accurate accounts payable files. Compile and maintain accurate accounts payable reports. Reconcile and respond to broker inquiries/discrepancies. Posts client payments and carrier direct bill payments to the accounting system. Prepare accurate surplus lines filings and premium tax payments. Special projects as needed.
Required Skills:
High attention to detail. Proficiency in mathematical principles and calculations. Good interpersonal/customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work as a team.
Experience Required:
Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience required, 3-5 years preferred. Insurance background/experience preferred.
Full Time Evaluation Hire Position
M-F 8:00 am-5:00 pm
$22.00 / hour
