Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an Office Assistant for a small, growing furniture repair business in Virginia Beach.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is professional, polite on the phone, comfortable using basic computer systems, and interested in growing with a small business over time. The owner is looking for someone who can help manage customer communication while he is out in the field completing service work.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, friendly, organized, and comfortable working in a small office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Answer incoming phone calls professionally and gather customer information
Respond to customer emails and online service requests
Enter customer details, notes, and appointment information into the company system
Assist with scheduling service calls and estimate requests
Use Housecall Pro after training to help manage customer information and job details
Use RingCentral phone system for incoming and outgoing communication
Help keep customer communication organized and timely
Provide a positive, professional first impression for the company
Follow the owner’s process for collecting information and communicating with customers
Support general office tasks as needed

Qualifications

Strong phone communication skills
Polite, professional, and customer-service focused
Comfortable using a computer and learning new software
Ability to type notes, respond to emails, and enter information accurately
Reliable and able to work independently when needed
Organized and able to follow a defined process
Comfortable working in a small office setting
Previous office assistant, receptionist, front desk, customer service, scheduling, dispatch, or administrative experience preferred

Work Environment

This is an in-office position located near Virginia Beach Town Center. The office is a small private space inside a professional office building with access to parking, internet, a communal kitchen, and shared building amenities.
