The Machine Operator Helper supports the operation of paper manufacturing equipment by assisting Machine Operators with setup, material handling, quality checks, and general production tasks. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while learning machine operations and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Machine Operators with daily production activities

• Load raw materials (paper rolls, pulp, packaging materials) into machines

• Monitor machines for jams, misfeeds, or quality issues and report concerns

• Perform basic quality inspections to ensure product meets specifications

• Remove finished products from machines and prepare for packaging or stacking

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards

• Assist with routine machine cleaning and changeovers

• Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout policies, and PPE requirements

• Complete basic production documentation as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience a plus, but not required

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

• Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts

Skills & Abilities

• Basic mechanical aptitude

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Team-oriented with a positive attitude

• Comfortable working around machinery and moving equipment

Work Environment

• Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery
