Key Responsibilities
As an Electric Motor Mechanic, you will:
- Disassemble, inspect, diagnose, repair, rebuild, assemble, and test electric motors and pumps
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify repair solutions
- Operate hand tools, power tools, lathes, grinders, and other machine shop equipment
- Use precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and repair manuals
- Perform welding, painting, and light machining work as needed
- Operate forklifts and handle materials safely
- Organize, manage, and track repair orders and ongoing projects
- Assist customers with service inquiries, counter sales, and product information
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
- Occasionally perform local deliveries and drive company vehicles as needed
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of mechanical experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Ability to accurately read measurements and specifications
- Strong math, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred
- Experience with electric motor repair, pump repair, rotating equipment, or industrial maintenance
- Experience operating lathes, grinders, or machine shop equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical or mechanical schematics
- Welding experience
- Trade school, apprenticeship, military mechanical training, or vocational education
