Material Handler

Located in Wayland, MI

Salary: $20-22/HR

Material Handler Job Summary:

The leading distributor of specialty building products in Wayland is looking for material handlers to join their growing team that aspires to be recognized as the most reliable, trusted, and knowledgeable professionals in the business.  

 

Material Handler Responsibilities:

• Unloading incoming freight, verifying product against enclosed packing lists, sorting material and putting away inventory 
• Using sit down forklifts and hand scanners
• Loading outbound flatbed and tarp side semis 
• Accurately pulling customer orders and preparing material for shipment
• Willing to operator chop saws and/or chainsaws
• Assisting in cleaning and maintenance of the yard/warehouse
• Performing other tasks as assigned 
• Working outside in the yard with building materials

Schedule & Pay:

• 7:00am-4:30pm,
• Overtime as needed, 1-2hours after shift 
• $20-22/HR, based on experience 

 Material Handler Qualifications:

• Sit down Forklift experience 
• Ability to accurately pull orders and load/unload trucks
• Strong communication skills
• Dependable and reliable 
• Safe working practices
• Natural detail-orientation
• Prior warehouse or lumberyard experience
• Working outside
• Maneuvering up to 75 pounds (push/pull/lift)
