Express Employment Professionals seek an experienced Finish Room Supervisor to lead our finishing operations in a fast-paced cabinet and furniture manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive wood coatings expertise, strong leadership skills, and hands-on experience with automated finishing systems, color matching, and production management.

This role is responsible for supervising finish room employees, ensuring production schedules are met, maintaining quality standards, improving operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour 

Schedule: On-site, full-time day or night shift, 40 hours per week - Overtime and additional hours may be required based on production need

• Day Shift: Monday – Friday - 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Evening Shift - Monday – Friday - 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all finishing room employees.
• Oversee daily finishing operations to ensure production schedules are met.
• Lead and develop painters and finishers through training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Monitor quality standards, color consistency, and finish performance.
• Create and maintain productivity reports and evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly output.
• Implement and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with established processes.
• Work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve issues.
• Troubleshooting finishing process and equipment problems.
• Assist with preventive maintenance planning and scheduling for finishing equipment.
• Manage labor resources while achieving productivity and cost goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and hazardous waste management requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a finishing, cabinet, furniture, or wood products manufacturing environment.
• Extensive knowledge of wood finishing processes, coatings, and materials.
• Experience with conversion varnish applications using automated spray systems and hand-spray methods.
• Strong color matching and finish mixing abilities.
• Experience managing multiple finishers and production schedules.
• Flat-line finishing system experience is required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train, develop, and motivate employees.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and hazardous waste handling procedures.
• Experience in cabinet or furniture manufacturing.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
• Preventive maintenance and equipment troubleshooting experience.
• Strong computer and reporting skills.
