Geoprobe Operator – Port Allen
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday 40+hrs/wk
Pay: $25/hr
Job Summary
Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing and recruiting firm, is currently hiring for a Geoprobe Operator for a locally owned Environmental Consulting Company in Port Allen. This is an exciting position where you will be working closely with Engineers, Geologists, and Environmental Scientists traveling across the state of Louisiana, operating a Geoprobe taking soil samples for projects. Ideal candidates are safety-focused, team-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working outdoors and traveling, have experience with equipment operation, and want to learn to operate a Geoprobe. Once hired on with the company, they will pay for CDL A training/certification so you can drive for them as well.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Geoprobe to drill for soil samples.
- Handle heavy lifting of materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
- Assist with site preparation, cleanup, equipment setup, and other required tasks
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures
- Travel with crew to job locations. Paid hotel and $50 per diem each day when project requires travel.
Requirements
- Previous surveying or construction labor experience preferred but not required
- Experience running heavy equipment of any kind required
- Experience operating a Geoprobe preferred but not required
- OSHA Hazwoper certification preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials throughout the workday
- Willingness to travel and stay out of town during the work week Mon-Fri
- Reliable transportation to the departure point for crew travel
- Strong work ethic and dependability
- Valid Driver's License
