HVAC Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, scheduled, and demand maintenance on facility equipment, with a primary focus on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems and associated building systems. This role supports a healthcare environment and ensures all maintenance activities are completed in compliance with departmental policies, hospital standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will maintain facility equipment in hospital and clinic settings, respond to maintenance requests, and assist with repairs and troubleshooting as needed. This position may require working various shifts, weekends, and occasional travel to other facility locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC/R equipment and related systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently in accordance with hospital, departmental, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain and repair facility equipment within hospital and clinic environments.
• Respond to service calls and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Document maintenance activities and completed work orders.
• Support other maintenance functions as needed to meet operational requirements.
• Travel to other facility locations when necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Four (4) years of experience in an acute healthcare setting may be considered in lieu of a High School Diploma or GED.
• EPA Certification required.
• Minimum three (3) years of HVAC/R Service Technician experience required.
• Valid Driver's License required if assigned a company vehicle or supporting Real Estate Division operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Refrigeration Certification.
• Hospital maintenance experience.
• Building Automation System (BAS) experience.
• High-rise HVAC experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for HVAC/R systems.
• Working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Understanding of HVAC safety standards, codes, and regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Schedule

• Various shifts may be required.
• Weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
• Occasional travel between facility locations may be necessary.
