Assistant Service Manager – Baton Rouge
$85,000 - $95,000 a year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, plus every 3rd Saturday
Express Employment Professionals – Downtown Baton Rouge is seeking an Assistant Service Manager for a locally owned and operated car dealership in East Baton Rouge. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills and high integrity to join a reputable team.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the service department.
- Lead, coach, and motivate employees to achieve performance goals.
- Ensure excellent customer service and customer satisfaction at all times.
- Monitor workflow and identify bottlenecks, delays, or inefficiencies.
- Expedite customer service processes to improve turnaround times and overall experience.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues effectively.
- Maintain clear communication between customers, advisors, technicians, and management.
- Monitor department productivity and help implement process improvements.
- Support staffing, scheduling, and team development efforts.
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed consistently.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous management or leadership experience.
- Strong people management and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Exceptional customer service mindset.
- Highly observant with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to identify performance gaps and operational inefficiencies.
- Self-motivated, driven, and results-oriented.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in customer service, retail management, hospitality, operations management, or a similar leadership role.
- Experience improving processes and increasing operational efficiency.
