Field Surveying Technician

Located in Lufkin, TX

Salary: $12.00-$20.00 DOE

•    Assist the Survey Crew Chief and other crew members with daily field surveying activities.
•    Learn to operate total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, data collectors, levels, and other surveying equipment.
•    Hold and properly position survey rods, prisms, targets, and other equipment.
•    Assist with locating property corners, survey monuments, benchmarks, utilities, structures, roads, drainage features, and other improvements.
•    Assist with measuring distances, elevations, angles, and other field information.
•    Set survey stakes, hubs, nails, lath, paint, and other survey markers.
•    Assist with construction staking for roads, water lines, sewer lines, drainage improvements, buildings, and other construction projects.
•    Assist with boundary, topographic, construction, subdivision, right-of-way, and utility surveys.
•    Maintain accurate field notes and assist with documenting existing site conditions.
•    Assist with clearing vegetation and preparing work areas for surveying activities.
•    Properly handle, transport, clean, and maintain surveying equipment.
•    Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials from company vehicles.
•    Follow directions from the Survey Crew Chief and ask questions when clarification is needed.
•    Communicate field conditions, problems, or safety concerns to the Crew Chief.
•    Maintain a clean and organized work area and vehicle.
•    Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
•    Represent Consultants professionally when interacting with clients, property owners, contractors, and the public.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.
