Production Supervisor

Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations, lead production personnel, and support safety, quality, and productivity initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can motivate employees, ensure compliance with company policies, and drive continuous improvement efforts within a fast-paced production environment. 

Job Summary

Under the direction of plant leadership, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising production employees, supporting quality initiatives, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring production goals are achieved efficiently and effectively. The Production Supervisor will assist with employee development, process improvement, inventory planning, and overall operational performance. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support production personnel to ensure daily production objectives are met.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Monitor production efficiency, quality standards, and employee performance. 
  • Assist with preventive maintenance planning to minimize equipment downtime. 
  • Review production schedules and coordinate resources to meet customer demands. 
  • Train, coach, and develop production employees on safety, quality, and operational procedures. 
  • Conduct regular safety and quality meetings with employees. 
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and other process improvement initiatives. 
  • Partner with Human Resources and management to ensure required training and certifications are completed.
  • Assist with employee evaluations, attendance management, disciplinary actions, and hiring efforts. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance. 
  • Complete additional duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience. 
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.  
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality standards. 
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Continuous Improvement, or similar programs preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP is a plus. 
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and troubleshooting skills. 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will be considered. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist throughout the shift. 
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and machinery. 
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
