Housekeeping & Laundry Attendant

Position Summary

The Housekeeping & Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, comfortable, and inviting guest accommodations and public areas. This position ensures high standards of cleanliness while providing exceptional guest service and supporting laundry operations to maintain an adequate supply of linens, towels, and other guest amenities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Housekeeping

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, cabins, cottages, and common areas according to established standards.
  • Change bed linens, make beds, and replenish guest amenities and supplies.
  • Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and clean all assigned areas.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and damaged property to management.
  • Remove trash and recycling from guest and public areas.
  • Ensure rooms and facilities are prepared for guest arrivals and departures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping storage areas and equipment.

Laundry

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, towels, robes, and uniforms.
  • Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect linens and garments for stains, damage, or wear.
  • Track and maintain linen inventory levels.
  • Follow proper handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and detergents.
  • Keep laundry facilities clean, organized, and stocked.

Customer Service

  • Interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and special housekeeping needs.
  • Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Contribute to a positive guest experience through attention to detail and quality service.

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping, laundry, hospitality, or cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as folding linens, making beds, and cleaning rooms.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced hospitality environment with daily interaction with guests and staff.
  • Weekend, holiday, and flexible scheduling may be required based on occupancy and business needs.
