HVAC Construction/Service Supervisor

Salary: $30.00/hr - $50.00 hr.

SUMMARY:

 

The HVAC Construction/Service Supervisor oversees the installation, construction, service,
maintenance, and completion of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Responsibilities include supervising HVAC crews and subcontractors, coordinating installations and service work, and ensuring systems are installed, maintained, and repaired according to project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes. Experience includes HVAC equipment, ventilation systems, boilers, chillers, piping, controls, troubleshooting, maintenance, and system startup/commissioning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervises and designs Installations of equipment in homes, businesses, and facilities in
accordance with established code, standards, and procedures
• Supervise HVAC installation crews, subcontractors, and technicians.
• Coordinate HVAC work with general contractors and other trades.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
• Ensure ductwork, piping, equipment, controls, and ventilation systems are installed correctly.
• Monitor work for compliance with building codes, safety requirements, and project
specifications.
• Schedule manpower, materials, equipment, inspections, and deliveries.
• Inspect completed work and resolve installation or quality issues.
• Track project progress, labor, materials, and potential delays.
• Communicate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients.
• Enforce workplace safety procedures and maintain a safe jobsite.
• Assist with testing, balancing, commissioning, and system startup.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• This job has supervisory responsibilities.
• Directly/Indirectly supervises employees within the Service Division.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving
problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
• An effective HVAC Construction Supervisor will have strong leadership, HVAC technical
knowledge, service and construction management, scheduling, problem-solving,
communication, and safety skills.
• Experience reading blueprints and understanding mechanical codes and specifications is also important.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to support all required assigned tasks
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with
enthusiasm
• Ability to supervise staff and work independently
• Excellent customer service skills
• Understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Understand all safety requirements and cautions
• Perform the physical labor necessary
• Effectively present information and respond to questions.
• Effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
