Our client in Coralville, IA is looking for a Sanitation Worker!

Position Summary: Our client, a leading foodservice distributor in Coralville, IA, is seeking a dependable Sanitation Worker to maintain the cleanliness and safety of its warehouse, offices, and surrounding property. This is a full-time, evaluation-to-hire opportunity involving warehouse cleaning, spill cleanup, trash removal, equipment operation, facility upkeep, and light maintenance. The ideal candidate can work independently, follow food-safety requirements, and perform physical duties throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, scrub, and clean the warehouse to maintain required sanitation standards
• Empty trash containers and clean trash and dumpster areas daily
• Operate the trash compactor and baler when applicable
• Pull pallets and clean product bays on a rotating schedule
• Clean spills and damaged product promptly and safely
• Determine whether damaged products can be recovered or must be disposed of according to food-safety requirements
• Collect recyclable materials, paper, and shrink wrap
• Check freezer and cooler areas for leaks or ice buildup
• Complete light maintenance duties, including replacing light bulbs
• Clean offices, break rooms, restrooms, test kitchens, and other facility areas
• Maintain facility grounds and exterior dumpster areas
• Complete reports and forms documenting cleaning schedules, spills, and product damage
• Track and order maintenance or sanitation supplies when assigned
• Operate a floor scrubber, sweeper, pallet jack, reach truck, high lift, baler, and hydraulic trash compactor as needed
• Follow all company safety, sanitation, and food-safety procedures

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous custodial, sanitation, warehouse, or industrial cleaning experience preferred
• Warehouse equipment experience is helpful but not required
• Ability to read instructions, complete basic written documentation, and follow directions
• Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
• Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to cleanliness and safety

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent to constant standing and walking
• Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, grasping, and handling cleaning materials
• Occasional to frequent pushing and pulling of equipment weighing between 5 and 100 pounds
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds
• Occasional climbing, balancing, twisting, and reaching above shoulder level
• Ability to safely operate warehouse and sanitation equipment as required

Hours:

• Monday–Friday
• 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• 40 hours per week

Pay:

• $17/hour
