PAY: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a friendly and customer-focused Scale Buyer / Customer Service Representative for a busy facility in Salem.

This is a great opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, providing great customer service, and creating a positive experience for every customer. You’ll greet and assist customers, help with the check-in and check-out process, enter information into the computer system, and make sure paperwork and transactions are handled accurately.

The ideal candidate is approachable, patient, professional, and comfortable interacting with customers throughout the day.

Job Duties

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, helpful service
• Assist customers with the check-in and check-out process
• Weigh customers in and out using the scale system
• Accurately enter customer and transaction information
• Review customer and vehicle paperwork for accuracy
• Record outbound shipment weights and shipping information
• Answer customer questions and help direct them to the appropriate area
• Communicate paperwork discrepancies to the office
• Maintain confidentiality of customer information
• Follow company procedures while maintaining a positive and professional attitude
• Help keep the customer experience smooth and welcoming

Qualifications

• 5+ years of customer service experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Friendly, approachable, and professional personality
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Microsoft Office and Outlook skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good organization and attention to detail
• Ability to handle customer questions and resolve basic issues professionally
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk throughout the day
• Occasionally sit while completing administrative tasks
• Lift up to 20 pounds as needed
• Perform frequent keyboarding and computer work
• Work around moving equipment and moderate industrial noise
• Comfortable working in both office and outdoor environments as needed
