Controller

Construction materials company in south Fort Worth is adding a Controller to their team!

Responsibilities include:

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to protect company assets; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; coordinate audits and regulatory filings

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and other accounting functions; maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
Provide financial analysis and insights to support executive decision-making; participate in strategic planning and policy development
Manage and supervise accounting and finance staff, including financial analysts and accountants; coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data collection and reporting
Monitor cash flow, optimize bank balances, and manage investments to maximize returns and minimize risk

Qualifications:

7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or finance, with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
Experience with job-shop manufacturing accounting required
Previous experience managing a team of up to 8 accounting associates
Experience closing books and reporting financials
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and knowledge of regulatory requirements
Proficiency in Sage or a similar system
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration; CPA certification is preferred
