A local Springfield company is searching for an Accounts Payable Specialist who will have core responsibilities in reconciling accounts, matching invoices for payments, and researching discrepancies. The Accounts Payable Specialist role is a vital role within the company, working directly with the accounting team. Our Accounts Payable Specialist will work independently, taking the lead on company reporting and tracking, acting as an internal resource on MS QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilites:
• Process accounts payable transactions, including preparing disbursements for open A/P items
• Prepare ACH payments and ensure all outgoing payment documentation is properly completed and delivered to recipients
• Monitor aged accounts payable items to identify discrepancies, missed payments, or required corrections
• Reconcile payments to A/P detail, particularly those related to insurance policy transactions
• Assist with additional accounting tasks and projects as needed to support the team

• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong documentation habits.

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Self motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Must have strong communication skills, high attention to detail, be able to work as a team and independently, and be able to prioritize their desk. Minimum of 2 years of previous accounting or accounts payable experience. Accounting degree preferred, but not required.
Full Time Evaluation Hire Position
M-F 8:00 am-5:00 pm
$22.00 - $24.00 / hour DOE
