Job Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Drill Press Operator / Machine Shop Helper for a local agricultural equipment manufacturer in the Yuba-Sutter area. This is a hands-on, entry-to-intermediate-level opportunity supporting a machine shop that manufactures and repairs components used in agricultural and industrial equipment.

The primary responsibility will be operating a drill press and assisting experienced shop personnel with basic machining and production tasks. Previous machine shop, drill press, manufacturing, or metalworking experience is preferred; however, the company is willing to train a mechanically inclined candidate who is dependable, comfortable using tools, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a drill press to drill holes in metal parts and components according to specifications.

• Measure and properly position materials before drilling.

• Use basic measuring tools to verify dimensions and hole placement.

• Assist machinists and other shop personnel with production and material preparation.

• Perform basic cutting, deburring, grinding, and finishing of metal components as needed.

• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the work area.

• Inspect completed parts for basic quality and accuracy.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.

• Follow established shop procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.

• Assist with additional machine shop and manufacturing duties as training and experience develop.

Qualifications:

• Previous drill press, machine shop, manufacturing, fabrication, or metalworking experience preferred.

• Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

• Comfortable working with basic hand and power tools.

• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.

• Basic understanding of measurements and shop math.

• Experience with calipers or other precision measuring tools is a plus.

• Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistent quality.

• Mechanically inclined with good hand-eye coordination.

• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working in a production environment.

• Willingness to learn additional machine shop equipment and processes.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.

• Ability to regularly bend, reach, push, pull, and handle metal materials.

• Ability to safely lift and move materials as required.

• Comfortable working in an active manufacturing and machine shop environment.
