Job Summary
The Yard Dog Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers, agricultural carts, and other equipment throughout the facility yard to support daily operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining the flow of materials between receiving, storage, processing, and shipping areas while ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate a yard truck (yard dog) to move trailers and equipment within the facility.
• Position trailers at loading and unloading docks as directed.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Ensure trailers and equipment are properly secured and parked in designated areas.
• Coordinate with warehouse, production, and shipping personnel to prioritize equipment movements.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer and equipment locations when required.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and food safety standards.
• Assist with general yard maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Support seasonal receiving, storage, and processing operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Experience operating yard truck is required.
• Ability to work safely in outdoor conditions, including heat, dust, and varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb in and out of equipment frequently.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and bending.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak operational seasons.
• Ability to safely operate equipment in a busy industrial and agricultural environment.

Work Environment This position is primarily performed outdoors. Employees may be exposed to dust, noise, moving equipment, and changing weather conditions while working in a fast-paced agricultural and industrial setting.
