Machine Operator & Setup
Location: Carpentersville, IL
Pay: $17/hr (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Full-Time | Potential Overtime Available
Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking an experienced Brother Drill/Tap Operator & Setup Technician for a growing precision manufacturing facility in the McHenry/Kane County area.
Job Summary
The Brother Drill/Tap Operator & Setup Technician is responsible for setting up and operating CNC drill/tap equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining production efficiency and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC drill/tap equipment for production runs.
- Install tooling and establish machine offsets and work coordinates.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing instructions.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
- Monitor production processes and make necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshoot minor machining and tooling issues.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
- Support continuous improvement and production goals
Qualifications
- Previous CNC setup and operation experience required.
- Experience with Brother Speedio or similar drill/tap machines preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring devices.
- Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, drilling, and tapping processes.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand throughout shift.
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as needed.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
