Legal Assistant
Location: McAllen, TX
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Express is seeking a Legal Assistant for a local law office in McAllen. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in real estate or litigation, as we are not looking to provide extensive training.

Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, closings, trials, and corporate meetings.
• Prepare legal arguments, motions, and draft pleadings for court filing; obtain affidavits as needed.
• Conduct legal research, gather records, and compile case information.
• Draft routine contracts and legal agreements.
• Maintain organized files of prepared legal documents.
• Identify judicial decisions, applicable laws, legal articles, and other relevant materials.
• Respond to interrogatories and coordinate requests between internal and external counsel.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a law firm, preferably in real estate or litigation.
• Strong knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and documentation.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
