Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for our Jamestown, NY client. Our client is looking for Brake Press Operator. The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal sheets and components according to specifications. This role requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and a strong focus on safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate brake press machines to perform bending operations on metal parts.
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine machine settings and part specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling and dies for each job and ensure proper alignment and calibration.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of brake press equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any defects or discrepancies.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in metal fabrication or machining is a plus.
- Experience operating brake press or other metal forming equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with measuring tools and quality inspection techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Hours are M-F 3:10 pm am to 11:30 pm. Pay is based on experience $20-24/hr.
