Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable CDL Driver to join our lumber yard team. The ideal candidate must be proficient in operating manual-transmission commercial trucks and comfortable delivering lumber and building materials to customers and job sites. This position requires safe driving, proper load handling, and excellent customer service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate manual-transmission CDL trucks to transport lumber and building materials.
• Deliver materials to residential, commercial, and construction job sites.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Verify delivery tickets, load quantities, and delivery locations before leaving the yard.
• Ensure lumber and materials are properly loaded, secured, and protected during transportation.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials when required.
• Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and required DOT documentation.
• Follow all DOT, company, and safety regulations.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, dispatchers, and lumber yard staff.
• Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
• Assist with general lumber yard duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or Class B, depending on company truck requirements.
• Must be experienced and comfortable driving a manual-transmission commercial truck.
• Clean or acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety requirements.
• Previous delivery, lumber yard, building materials, construction, or similar driving experience preferred.
• Ability to safely secure loads using straps, chains, binders, or other required equipment.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds as needed.
• Ability to climb in and out of commercial trucks throughout the workday.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
