Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Truck Mechanic for a busy commercial truck repair shop in Elizabeth, NJ. The ideal candidate has experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel trucks and commercial vehicles. Strong general mechanic experience will also be considered, but diesel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on commercial trucks
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine service
• Repair brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components
• Diagnose and repair diesel engine issues
• Troubleshoot electrical and charging systems
• Perform air brake repairs and inspections
• Use diagnostic equipment and scan tools
• Maintain a safe and organized work area

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or Automotive Technician
• Diesel or heavy-duty truck experience preferred
• Experience with commercial trucks, box trucks, or tractor-trailers is a plus
• Air brake and electrical diagnostic experience preferred
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Dependable and able to work independently
