Express Employment Professionals is recruiting an Assistant Medical Director for a local organization serving individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an LPN or RN who enjoys combining hands-on resident care with medical coordination, staff support, training, and clinical oversight.

The Assistant Medical Director will work closely with leadership and care staff to help oversee the daily health and wellness needs of residents while ensuring medical appointments, medications, care plans, documentation, and staff training are effectively coordinated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee medical, dental, vision, and specialty appointments for residents
  • Attend appointments when additional clinical support or oversight is needed
  • Review appointment outcomes and communicate important information to appropriate support teams
  • Review and assist with updates to Medication Administration Records (MARs)
  • Monitor resident response and potential side effects following medication changes
  • Coordinate vaccination clinics and maintain resident vaccination records
  • Assist with new resident intakes, medical records, medication coordination, and required documentation
  • Participate in resident support and program team meetings
  • Monitor resident health and stability using information such as vital signs, seizure logs, and other health-related data
  • Develop and conduct Medication Administration Training for new employees
  • Participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and/or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Post-secondary education, including a two-year degree or certification in a human services-related field
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to successfully complete a DHS background study
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work compassionately and professionally with individuals with varying intellectual and physical abilities
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours based on resident and program needs
