Night Utility Worker

Role Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable and hardworking Night Utility Worker for a local company in Scott City, MO. This position will assist machine operators, handle materials, maintain clean and organized work areas, and help ensure equipment and production areas remain safe and operational.

The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, comfortable working overnight, and able to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support

• Assist machine operators with feeding materials into production equipment.
• Help clear minor material jams and production-area obstructions.
• Move corrugated stock, packaging materials, and finished products as needed.
• Assist with general production tasks to keep operations running efficiently.
• Follow instructions from machine operators and supervisors.

Cleanliness & Maintenance

• Keep the work area, mill floor, and walkways clean and free of debris.
• Remove scrap cardboard, dust, and other waste materials from production areas.
• Assist with basic machine and equipment upkeep.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Report maintenance concerns or equipment issues to the appropriate supervisor.

Material Handling

• Transport supplies, raw materials, and finished goods throughout the facility.
• Operate manual pallet jacks and other assisted material-handling equipment as needed.
• Load, unload, and move materials safely.
• Follow proper procedures when handling products and materials.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company and plant safety rules and procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Maintain awareness of moving machinery, equipment, and other workplace hazards.
• Immediately report equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or safety concerns.
• Follow all housekeeping and workplace safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, production, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work a consistent night/overnight shift.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable performing physical labor for extended periods.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift.
• Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
