IT Project Specialist

Location: McAllen, TX

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

 

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an IT Specialist to support technology projects, software implementations, cybersecurity initiatives, AI tools, automation, system upgrades, and process improvements for a local organization in McAllen, TX. This position will work closely with IT, operations, and other departments to implement technology solutions, troubleshoot systems, improve business processes, and assist users with new technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with software implementations, system upgrades, testing, configuration, and deployment
• Support IT projects from planning through implementation and post-launch support
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, security updates, access controls, and incident response procedures
• Support the implementation and responsible use of AI tools and technology solutions
• Identify opportunities for automation, workflow improvements, and process efficiency
• Troubleshoot technology issues and assist with hardware, software, and system problems
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, user guides, and training materials
• Assist with user training and technology adoption
• Work with IT staff, employees, vendors, and other departments on technology projects
• Maintain accurate records of projects, systems, software, equipment, and configuration changes
• Follow company security policies, CTPAT requirements, and applicable quality procedures
• Perform other IT and special project duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 3+ years of related IT experience strongly preferred
• Experience with IT support, software implementation, systems administration, cybersecurity, or technology projects
• Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and business applications
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and information security practices
• Familiarity with AI tools, automation, workflows, databases, or system integrations is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
