M-F 6 am – 4 pm

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Supervisor to lead daily shop operations at a Port Allen, Louisiana facility. The Shop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing personnel, maintaining equipment readiness, ensuring compliance with safety standards, coordinating workflow, and supporting operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for Shop Supervisor: 

• Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities and personnel.
• Plan, assign, and monitor work to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Maintain shop equipment, tools, and inventory to ensure operational readiness.
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Coordinate equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and vendor services as needed.
• Track inventory levels and order materials, supplies, and replacement parts.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate shop employees.
• Maintain accurate records related to maintenance, inspections, inventory, and labor hours.
• Collaborate with operations, project managers, and field personnel to support customer needs.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Experience in shop operations, maintenance, fabrication, or related industrial environments.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance, shop safety procedures, and inventory management.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, maintenance records, and technical documents.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
